Speaking at Casual Connect Asia (May 2013)

My name is Jeremy Snook.  I have worked in the video game industry since 2001.  I started at PC game developer Gas Powered Games, where I worked on seven  games before transitioning over to the casual side of the industry in 2006.  I worked at RealNetworks in their RealGames division, building up and leading the 2nd party (publishing) and 3rd party (content acquisition) teams responsible for getting games for Real’s worldwide games service.

I moved back to the core games side after joining Microsoft Studios (formerly Microsoft Game Studios).  I’ve been there since 2010, working first on their Xbox publishing  business development team for four years, bringing in developers to create unique, exclusive experiences for the Xbox and Windows.  Shortly after Microsoft acquired Mojang (creators of Minecraft) in 2014, I joined that studio, where I lead the global partnerships team.

In 2007 I entered the University of Washington’s Master of Communication in Digital Media program.  This website was started as the chronicle of my experiences within the program over the three years that I worked through it.
